What is Site Backup

Site Backup is a service offered by Crazy Domains that creates copies of your website files, folders, and databases and stores them in a secure location. It allows you to restore your site in case of data loss, corruption, or unexpected issues, giving you control over your website’s recovery. 

It supports automated backups and allows you to restore data when needed, helping maintain access to your website content.

 

How to buy Site Backup

1. Log in to your Crazy Domains Account.
2. Locate the hosting product where you want to enable the Site Backup add-on.
3. Click Manage. This opens the Hosting Product Manager.
4. In the Hosting Product Manager, click on the Backup tab. You will see the Site Backup banner.
5. Click on the GET IT button.
6. Set your Backup Storage size requirement.
7. Click GO TO CART.
8. Complete the checkout process.
9. Wait for the product to be activated and setup within 24 hours.

 

Set up a backup schedule

Once your Site Backup is activated, you can start scheduling the backup. 

1. In your Hosting Product Manager, click on the Backup tab. 
2. On the Backup Schedule row, click CHANGE. 
3. Choose a backup frequency. 
   • Daily 
   • Weekly 
   • Monthly 
   • On Demand 
4. Click SAVE. 

Your website and databases will automatically be backed up according to the backup frequency set.

 

How to access Site Backup Dashboard

Follow this guide to access Site Backup dashboard:

1. In your Hosting Product Manager, click on the Backup tab. 
2. Click GO TO BACKUP CONFIG to open the Site Backup Dashboard.

 

View your backup history

To view your Backup History, follow the steps below:

1. Go to your Site Backup Dashboard. 
2. Locate the backup item that you want to check. 
3. Click the Backup History button on the right.

 

Restore a website files backup

To restore a website files backup, follow the steps below:

1. Go to your Site Backup Dashboard. 
2. In the Websites section, find the backup item that you want to restore. 
3. Click the Restore icon on the right. This opens the backup file screen. 
4. Select a Backup date you want to restore. 
5. Select the files that you want to restore or select all. 
6. Click the Restore icon. This opens a new screen. 
7. In the Restore to field, select a domain. 
8. Read and acknowledge the disclaimer. 
9. When you're ready, click on Restore.

 

Check your backup storage usage

View your Site Backup storage usage by accessing your Site Backup Dashboard.
