The cPanel Email Account

NOTE. This guide is applicable for hosting products with cPanel (they are Linux Hosting, Business Hosting, Website BuildereCommerce Builder, WordPress Hosting, and WooCommerce Online Store).

Discover how you can create, manage, and delete email accounts in your cPanel account's domains.  

 

Access your cPanel email service 

Begin by accessing your cPanel email service. 

  1. Log in to your cPanel
  2. Go to the Email section and click Email Accounts

In this interface, you can see the following cPanel email account features: 

  1. Status of email account quota 
  2. The search bar 
  3. Create email account button 
  4. Email accounts table 

 

 

Status of email account quota 

This section displays the number of available email accounts you can create for your specific subscription plan and the number of email accounts you've already used. 

 

If you already have a long list of email accounts, you can use the search bar to find a specific email account. You can also filter the results using one of the following settings: 

 

Settings Description
Restricted Display only the accounts with restrictions.
System Account Display only the cPanel system user email account. The system identifies this account with the System button.
Exceed Storage Display only the accounts that are over their storage quotas.

 

Create email account button

Email accounts table 

This table displays all the email accounts created in your cPanel and allows you to perform the following actions: 

Column Description
Checkbox Used to select email accounts for bulk actions. You can also select all email accounts by checking the checkbox at the top of the column.
 

NOTE. You cannot use this feature for the system email account.

Arrow button Click the arrow or more button to display more information about a specific email account. Once the information is expanded, you can do the following actions:
  • Restrictions. The account’s restrictions, if any exist.
  • Delete. Click to permanently delete all mail and data for the account. After you click Delete, a confirmation message will appear. Click Delete to remove the account.
     

    IMPORTANT. You cannot undo this action. You cannot delete the cPanel system email account.

Account @ Domain You can use this function to sort the email account list:
  • Click Account to sort the list alphabetically by account name.
  • Click Domain to sort the list alphabetically by domain name.
Restrictions Determines whether there is a restriction for the account.
Storage: Used / Allowed / % Click Used, Allocated, or the percent symbol (%) to sort the table by that item. These labels are the amount, the limit, and the percentage of disk space data quota usage.
The actions column Click an action to perform the desired task.
  • Check Email. Click to check an email account’s mail. A new interface will appear that displays the account in Webmail.
  • Manage. Click to edit an existing email account's quota, password, and other email account properties. Read the cPanel Manage Email Accounts documentation to learn more.
  • Connect Devices. Click this to see the mail client settings if you want to set up your email on your device.
