What Is an AAAA Record

An AAAA Record (quad A Record) is another type of DNS Record that points a domain or subdomain to an IPv6 address, so that when someone types that domain or subdomain in the address bar, the browser knows where to go.

AAAA Record is somehow similar to the A Record, but allows you to specify the IPv6 address of the server, rather than the IPv4.

IPv6 addresses are four times larger than IPv4 and contain 8 sets of numbers and letters ranging from 0000 to FFFF.

Example: 001:0bd9:0000:0000:0000:0000:2158:64ab

In addition, IPv6 also has many other features like protocol enhancements for security and a more efficient routing of traffic.
