How to Create a Subdomain in cPanel
If you already own a domain, there’s no need to register a new one to create separate sections for your website. Instead, you can use a subdomain—a cost-free way to organize different parts of your site under the same main domain.
A subdomain lets you create specific sections within your website, each with its own purpose. For example, you can have a gallery at gallery.mydomain.com instead of adding it to your main site.
Creating a subdomain
Follow these steps below to create a subdomain in cPanel.
- Access your cPanel.
- Scroll down to the Domains section and select Domains.
- On the right, click the Create a New Domain button.
- Enter the full subdomain with the domain name in the blank field (for example: shop.yourdomain.com, gallery.mydomain.com).
- Click Submit.
You will see a confirmation message once it is complete.
