How To Recover Deleted Emails From Outlook and OWA

As the title suggests, accidentally deleted emails from your Outlook Mailbox can be recovered in your Deleted Items folder, and in some scenarios you can recover permanently deleted items from your network server.

There are two ways in recovering deleted emails from your Outlook:

 

Recover Emails From Deleted Items or Junk Email Folders

Choose on the linked guides below if you are accessing via Outlook Desktop or OWA to recover your deleted emails.

 

If via Outlook Desktop

Follow the steps below to recover emails on your Outlook Desktop application.

  1. Open Outlook Application on your desktop and click on Deleted Items folder from the Mail window.

  2. Right click on the email message to recover and select Move option, then choose a destination folder to move that’s not been deleted.

If via OWA

If Outlook Desktop isn’t available for you, you can recover email messages by logging in to your Outlook Web Access (OWA) through a browser and following the steps below.

  1. Log in to your Outlook Web Access (OWA).
  2. From your Mail window, go to your Deleted Items folder and select the email message to recover and click the Recover option.

    Selected email messages are automatically recovered to their original folders. If the folder no longer exists, email messages will be recovered to your Inbox folder.
 

Recover Emails That Are Removed From Your Deleted Items Folder

If you can't find the email messages in your Deleted Items folder, you can find these items in your Recover deleted items if you're accessing it on OWA, or recover it from your Network Server via Outlook Desktop. Choose your preferred access and follow the steps below.

If via Outlook Desktop

Follow the steps below to recover deleted items from your Network Server on Outlook Desktop.

  1. Open Outlook Application on your desktop.
  2. From your Mail window, click on Deleted Items folder and click on the Recover Deleted Items from Server ribbon at the top menu.

  3. Select the email messages to recover or click the Select All button to include all emails, then choose to Restore Selected Items or permanently delete selected items from your server by choosing Purge Selected Items.

  4. Click the Ok button to apply the changes.
 

If via OWA

If Outlook Desktop isn’t available for you, you can recover email messages by logging in to your Outlook Web Access (OWA) through a browser and following the steps below.

  1. Log in to your Outlook Web Access (OWA).
  2. From your Mail window, go to your Deleted Items folder and click the Recover deleted items option.

  3. Select the email messages to recover and choose to Recover or permanently delete by clicking the Purge option.
