Set Up MX and TXT Records for Titan Email

To activate your Titan email, you must route incoming messages to your Titan email server. To do this, you need to set up the MX and TXT records for your domain name.

Step 1: Find your DNS settings

First, determine where your domain's current DNS settings are managed. This depends on the domain's current name servers. To find the current name servers of your domain, follow these steps:

  1. Perform a WHOis search. Use a WHOis lookup tool to search for your domain.
  2. Locate the Name Servers section. In the search results, find the Name Servers section.

After identifying your domain's current name servers, refer to the table below to determine their corresponding DNS management location.

Name servers DNS settings location

ns1.syrahost.com
ns2.syrahost.com

cPanel (Linux)

ns1.syrahost.com
ns2.syrahost.com

Plesk (Windows)

ns1.crazydomains.com
ns2.crazydomains.com

Account Manager (Standard DNS)

NOTE. Requires UPGRADE to Premium DNS for the TXT record option.

ns1.dnspackage.com
ns2.dnspackage.com

External (not Crazy Domains)

On your Name Server provider's portal

Step 2: Add the MX records to your DNS settings

For the specific instructions, select the DNS settings location below that corresponds to the current name servers of your domain.

NOTE

  • The term (yourdomain.tld) in the following instructions represents your actual domain name.
  • Changes to the Name Servers and DNS records within Crazy Domains will take two to four hours to fully work on the internet. However, some ISPs have their TTL (Time To Live) duration that could override our maximum DNS resolution time. It may cause the changes to take up to 24-48 hours to fully work.

If your domain is connected to ns1.syrahost.com and ns2.syrahost.com name servers (for Linux-Based hosting), you need to configure the MX and TXT records in cPanel. To set up the MX and TXT records for your Titan email in cPanel, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your cPanel.
  2. Scroll down to Domains section and click Zone Editor.
  3. Click the Manage button for the domain you want to modify.
  4. Click + Add Record three times, because you need to add three DNS records.
  5. Enter the following DNS records to the new DNS entry field:
    Name TTL Type Record

    (yourdomain.tld.)

    3600

    (Select MX)

    Priority: 10

    Destination: mx1.titan.email

    Destination: mx2.titan.email

    (yourdomain.tld.)

    3600

    (Select TXT)

    v=spf1 include:spf.titan.email ~all

  6. Click the Save Record button for each DNS entry to save them.

IMPORTANT. In the Filter section of the DNS table, click MX to see all the MX records for (yourdomain.tld). Make sure to delete other irrelevant MX records for (yourdomain.tld) to avoid interruptions.

If your domain is connected to ns1.syrahost.com and ns2.syrahost.com name servers (for Windows-Based hosting), you need to configure the MX and TXT records in Plesk. To set up the MX and TXT records for your Titan email in Plesk, follow these steps:

  2. On the left sidebar, make sure you click Websites & Domains.
  3. On the Websites & Domains table, click the domain you want to modify to expand the options.

  11. Click OK.
  12. To confirm all the changes, click Update at the top of the DNS table.

IMPORTANT. In your DNS settings, review the MX records for (yourdomain.tld). Make sure to delete other irrelevant MX records for (yourdomain.tld) to avoid interruptions.

If your domain is connected to ns1.crazydomains.com and ns2.crazydomains.com or ns1.dnspackage.com and ns2.dnspackage.com name servers, you can add the MX and TXT records for your Titan email in the Account Manager. To do this, follow the steps below:

IMPORTANT. The TXT record option in the Account Manager is only available for Premium DNS. You need to upgrade if you only have the standard DNS from your domain registration.

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. In your Dashboard, look for the Domain Registration product for the domain you want to modify.
  3. Click MANAGE.
  4. On the next screen, scroll down to the DNS Settings section.
  5. Click the menu button (burger button) on the right, and select Add Record.
  6. Select MX Record from the dropdown, and click Add. The editable MX record field will appear.

NOTE. The new DNS entry is located at the bottom of the list.

  7. Click + Add MX Record at the bottom of the MX record table because we need two MX entries for Titan email.
  8. Enter the two sets of MX records below:
Record Type Sub Domain Priority Assign To Server
MX Record (leave this empty) 10 mx1.titan.email
MX Record (leave this empty) 20 mx2.titan.email

IMPORTANT. If there are existing MX records for (yourdomain.tld) other than the required MX records, make sure to delete them by clicking the Delete button on the right of the record.

  9. Click Update to save the changes.
  10. Repeat step 5 to add another DNS entry.
  11. This time, select TXT record from the dropdown, then click Add.
  12. Enter the TXT record below:
Record Type Sub Domain TXT Record

    TXT Record

    (Leave this empty)

    v=spf1 include:spf.titan.email ~all
  13. Click Update to save the changes.

If your domain uses external name servers (not Crazy Domains), you can follow the generic instructions below. For more specific instructions, refer to your DNS provider's support help center or contact them directly for assistance.

  1. Log in to your DNS provider's portal and find the DNS settings.
  2. Add the MX and TXT records below:
Host/Name/Alias Record Type TTL Priority Mail Server/Records
    (yourdomain.tld) MX 3600 10 mx1.titan.email
    (yourdomain.tld) MX 3600 20 mx2.titan.email
    (yourdomain.tld) TXT 3600 (not applicable for TXT) v=spf1 include:spf.titan.email ~all
  3. Save the new DNS settings and wait for them to fully work.

IMPORTANT. Remove or delete any irrelevant MX records for (yourdomain.tld). You should only have the two MX records for (yourdomain.tld) we specified above.
